Why Volunteer for Ireland Air Ambulance?
People volunteer for many different reasons. You will find it challenging, rewarding and varied. You may wish to develop your skills in communication and increase your self confidence through practical experience. There are opportunities for all, and a chance to put your skills to good use by helping local people.
You will also have the opportunity in meeting new people and making new friends in a supportive environment that is geared up to make the best use of that valuable commodity – your time!
Here are just some examples of how you can help
• produce promotional materials to use locally
• produce press releases and search for content
• identify case studies of clients or volunteers who would be willing to talk to the media
• write an article for the website or newsletter
• arrange events, displays and talks to promote the Air Ambulance
• identify events for the charity to attend for fundraising and promotions
• run a media campaigning Lottery funding

As a coordinator you would be involved in direct fundraising, whether it be via the Community Events, Grants or Business Partnership teams
• work with operations or trustees to meet fundraising objectives
• help with researching fundraising opportunities

Volunteer Recruitment
Volunteer recruitment campaigns run throughout the year. We are currently undertaking the first stage of recruitment for our ‘3000 Club’, where we will be recruiting 3000 volunteers over the next 3 years. We are currently looking for 1000 volunteers to complete this stage and we are looking for help from you to achieve this. We currently have over 200 volunteers, and in addition we are receiving 10 to 15 enquiries a week.
To assist in volunteer recruitment you might:
• produce local volunteer recruitment materials – leaflets and posters
• find case studies about current volunteers for your local newspapers
• organise stands or displays in local community venues
• give talks about Ireland Air Ambulance volunteering
• run open days for potential volunteers
• ensure the website is updated with volunteering opportunities
• deal with volunteer enquiries forwarded from this website or from our Event Team
